Head gasket without removing intake

    Hello. Apparently there’s no one here, but I’ll post anyhow. Fifty year ase mechanic here. Just picked up my last Rocky, an 90 with 1.6.
    Manual states to remove head with intake and exhaust attached. I’m all about taking things apart and all, but that head looks like it will come off with minimal disturbance of the intake. Any reason why I can’t leave the intake behind whilst doing a head gasket job? Got some bent valves to tend to. Ty

    no reason…either way is not a problem.. is a little less messy to leave it on when lifting the head.. there are a few coolant and oil ports that “blank-off” with the intake manifold..
